Snow Covered Trails by Katie

Thursdays are always my most productive day of the week.  Suddenly, there are only two weekdays left and I want to get everything done!  I ate my banana blueberry peanut butter oats while making a to-do list… for the day. [Lunch was unpictured leftover pizza from last night!]

So far, I’ve accomplished some of the bigger things. I’ll show the update version in a few hours.

The marathon training schedule called for 40 minutes of hills today.  Colorado has a lot of plains and a lot of mountains, but not too many hills.  It’s kind of flat…flat….flat… BAM! Rocky Mountains!  There are “foothills” but those guys are mountains on the east coast.  So, I headed closer to the mountain/ foothill area and ran on a trail.  There were just a few inches of snow.  My first little hill…

Second hill.. PS it was very much light out, but cloudy.

The flat part!

View to the northwest.

View to the east. See? Plains!

There I am!  HI!!

See the extra white part that curves a bit way off in the distance?  That is the trail I was on.

Another shot cause it was pretty.

Someone remembers she has wide angle..

When I set out, I really had no idea where I would go.  I ran parts of the trail in the summer, but never 40 minutes worth.  It was easy to see everything since I was on top of a ridge and once I realized I was making a loop, I stopped by my car and grabbed my camera for the second loop.  Perfect timing that each loop took ~20 minutes!

Alright, it’s time to make dinner!

2-for-1 Ethnic Food by Kelli

Well bloggies is official, I’m definitely getting sick.  I woke up still feeling off and NOT hungry at all.  I was going to make eggs, but honestly the thought of them made me feel gross.  So I had an apple, well half an apple.  I had the same feeling all day.  When I went to eat my lunch I just couldn’t stomach it.  I feel ok, but just can’t think about eating food, or smelling it for that matter.  I feel really run down and just blah.  This is exactly how I feel right before I get sick, so its just a waiting game at this point.

I told Stephen how I was feeling and he offered to make my 2-for-1 dish for me (sorry ladies, this one is taken 😉 )  How sweet is that?!  Earlier in the week Katie and  I decided to do an ethnic dish for our 2-for-1 this week.  Since Stephen loves anything chinese I decided to do something a long those lines.  I was THRILLED when I found some chicken with a chinese rub on it.  I did not eat much, but Stephen said it was pretty good 🙂  He also made himself acorn squash!  I was so impressed.

Sorry for the lame 2-for-1 and the lame posts of the past few days.  I am going to crash and hopefully sleep til Saturday when this thing is out of my system.

Please send love.  I need it right now.

An off day… by Kelli

Have you ever had a day where everything just felt… off?  Nothing goes wrong, but nothing goes quite right?  Weird.  That is exactly how my Wednesday was.  I blame the weather!  I am so tired of waking up to SNOW!!!

I woke up looking forward to an arm workout and a protein shake.  After the arm workout I realized I was all out of spinach and had completely forgotten to pick up more (weird right?) And I only had this sad little banana left…

How did this get THAT ripe overnight?!?!  WEIRD!  So I turned to something simple, scrambled eggs.  I made 2 eggs and one egg white scrambled with some parm cheese and ketchup.  Very simple and boring, and did not quite hit the spot.

And yes they were served on a left over happy birthday plate 🙂  Here is a picture of the rest of the eats I enjoyed at my desk…

The Amys burrito was not as good as I remembered.  I literally felt like I spent the whole day craving SOMETHING but had no idea what it was!  It was such a weird feeling!  Craving salt?  Nope, the nuts didn’t do anything for me.  Something sweet?  Nope, the yogurt covered pretzels really didn’t taste normal to me.  My sense of taste seemed to be so off yesterday!  WEIRD!

I got home and was looking forward to a glass of wine since I was not running last night.  I had a glass of white wine which tasted just fine 🙂  Neither of us wanted to cook so we decided to order some sushi.  I usually look forward to sushi take out like some people look forward to their birthday, but last night was such a disappointment (why was I surprised?!)  I decided to try a new roll and it was just blah.

(sorry for the dark picture).  This just did not taste right.  It honestly tasted like a mouth full of salt water.  Since dinner was a disappointment I decided to have  a big bowl of ice cream after dinner, which tasted just fine 🙂  Apparently I should have ONLY eaten ice cream and wine yesterday!

Hopefully today is a better day!! Bye all!
